Course Description

STEM Academy introduces Online Space Exploration – one of its kind space lab for students to learn scientific reasoning in the context of exploring space through real-time viewing and control of robotic telescopes. Students get inspired to learn by looking into space and completing activities which challenge them to use the telescopes to collect and analyze data. They learn the science behind various astronomical events and replicate the same on Simulations using coding.
– 5 Days: 5 Hours session (60 mins. per day)
– 5 Innovative Activities Per batch

Learning Outcomes:
– Participants learn about astronomy, night sky objects and the science behind them, their history and astrophotography.
– Create a gallery of the images captured from space and analyze data.
– Work collaboratively to solve missions based on their space exploration
– Create online simulations using Coding on space-related topics – like Solar System, Moon, Stars Constellations, Eclipses etc.

Features:

Robotic Telescopes
Unlike simulation software, our online platform provides real-time viewing of the celestial objects in the sky.

Live Viewing
Students get inspired to learn by looking into space through robotic telescopes supported by contextual information to aide in the learning process, including recorded audio.

Advanced Control
Students have the ability to set up their own telescope missions using astronomical catalogs.

Gamified Curriculum Quests
Students learn to explore space by completing learning activities which challenge them to use the telescopes to collect and analyze data to form their own conclusions.

STEM and Coding
Students work on a collection of earth science projects. These lessons walks students through how to make a phenomenon occurs as they create the simulation of the same through coding. At each step, it encourages them to make their project unique and interesting, emphasizing that coding is a creative medium much like writing or drawing.
